Saturday, June 26, amidst rainy weather which only served to solidify our cause, we met with the flashmob participants at CRD. The banners were prepared and a big banner was painted with the event of the day: we avoided the typical gendered colors, instead choosing the opposite colors for dramatic effect (Equal Opportunities between Women and Men). The 15 student participants were instructed on what to do for the activity, but once we arrived at the established location (Materna bus station), what was meant to be a flashmob ended up more as a demonstration. The location was extremely favorable to the activity, ensuring a high level of visibility despite the low level of traffic: the bus passengers and passersby took notice our activity, reading our banners and even asking which organization or institution we represented.
